    Who Am I?

Jaime is a mixed media artist and sees her art as a hybrid of mixed media art techniques and more traditional fine art/portraiture. She started becoming serious about her art in 2016 when she challenged herself to create 50 skull paintings in 50 days. Her little 6×6 skull artworks continue to be some of her most popular paintings! In 2018, she started combining mixed media backgrounds with portraits on canvas. She considers herself mostly self-taught, but does hold a minor in 2D Art from Colby-Sawyer College in New London, NH and is currently mentored by Fort Smith, AR professional artist Jim Horne.

Jaime works in acrylic, oil, gouache, inks and watercolors. She paints mostly portraits and animals with a few abstracts thrown in for fun. She is a collector of found objects and natural materials like shells and shark’s teeth and once (carefully) glued an expired black widow spider to a painting. Jaime loves to include her found objects on her canvases along with paper, fabric, beads, glitter, and whatever else strikes her fancy. She is constantly looking at the ground because that’s often where she spies the perfect art treasures.
